LOST IN THE DARKNESS RELEASE
APPROVED SHORT ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
A German alternative rock band with captivating guitar riffs, a powerful voice and catchy basslines. Those who experience LIGER live, led by the distinctive moves of the frontman, will undoubtedly remember the thrilling show. Together, the five musicians from Aachen produce a mix of genre-bending melodies with profound English-language lyrics, inspired by real life and the fictional parallel world of the singer Mephaixtopheles.
After forming in Bristol (UK) in 2011, the band release their music under the name REDNIGHT until 2021. Determined to leave this era behind, they reinvented themselves during the pandemic break and come back on the scene as LIGER. The single "We Were Gods" immediately made it five weeks into the Rock Top 30 on Berlin's StarFM radio alongside bands like The Luka State and Måneskin.

ABOUT LOST IN THE DARKNESS
Two years have already passed since the alternative rock band LIGER from Aachen released the single ‘We Were Gods’, which spent around five weeks in the Rock Top 30 on Berlin radio station Star FM. On 29 November 2024, LIGER is now back as a five-piece and with the same line-up from 2018 with the new single ‘Lost in the Darkness’, picking up on the theme of the previous single.
While ‘We Were Gods’ introduced the story behind singer Maurice Xaver Klinge's name ‘Mephaixtopheles’ with the fall of the gods, it now lyrically explores the relationship between Lucifer and God and invites listeners to immerse themselves in the world of darkness and despair. The band describes the song as a reflection on the challenges of life and the inner demons that surround us. ‘With ‘Lost in the Darkness’, we wanted to tell a story that many can relate to,’ says the singer of Liger. ‘It's about feeling lost in the darkness and at the same time finding the courage to face your own destiny.’
The single ‘Lost in the Darkness’ is just one piece of the puzzle of the upcoming plans for the future. The alternative rock band, founded in Bristol (UK), has also announced that it is working on a concept EP to be released in 2025, which will tie in thematically with its previous history.
The single was recorded for the first time at Studio Thoma Audio in the city region of Aachen and produced by Maurice Xaver Klinge in order to realise the dark story both musically and scenically. The long band history, but also the reunion of the five musicians from Aachen, provides the certain intimacy that is needed to produce the music and bring it to the stage live, which you can feel more than ever.
The mastering is once again by Robin Schmidt (24-96 Mastering), who has already worked for Nothing but Thieves, Royal Blood and Biffy Clyro, among others. So we can expect more music from the alternative rock band founded in Bristol (UK).
